TSSA logo About Us

Technical Standards and Safety Authority (TSSA) enforces technical & safety standards in the province of Ontario for any inflatables used for the public or on public property.

If you are hosting a Public event (applies to public and private property) you are required by law to use a TSSA certified company like Moonwalk.  TSSA Inflatable units are inspected annually for safety and permits. Moonwalk is also required to train staff and volunteers, keep maintenance logs and inspection checklists and as part of the regulation.

  • Church- Religious centers
  • Parks, playgrounds, city property
  • Community centers, gyms, halls, arenas
  • Schools
  • Company & Business Properties
  • All locations not considered personal or private property

IMPORTANT: If you rent a unit for a public event that does not have TSSA-registered inflatables and someone is injured, the rental company’s insurance will NOT cover you or your event for that injury and YOU will be personally liable. General business, home or event insurance does not cover inflatables.

Private events, such as a birthday party that takes place on private property are NOT considered to be “general public” and do not require TSSA-registered inflatables. Private parties that take place on Public property ARE considered public events and DO require TSSA.
